Drink Well
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO DRINK WATER?
Our body is made up of 75% water & 25% solids
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) recommends females to drink around 1.6 litres and men 2.0 litres of fluid per day, which equates to 8 glasses (200ml) and 10 glasses respectively; in addition to the water consumed in foodstuffs.
Recommended intake will ofcourse vary depending on the environment we find ourselves in. E.G. higher water loss will occur with increased heat, exercise or humidity, therefore our consumption must compensate for this.
The EFSA's scientific experts state that water contributes to the maintenance of 3 main bodily functions:
Thermoregulation
Physical
Cognition
